Wolf Bargain(Buffet galore 2 times over)
Crystal Cafe, Orchard Grand Court Hotel

I have to be honest, I am not a buffet person, but I keep suggesting going to a buffet with my wife. Maybe I am a buffet person after all🤔.This Taiwan porridge buffet is no Taiwan porridge, it is probably closer to the Teochew Porridge style. I am sure Taiwanese don’t eat those things found in the buffet spread. The most Taiwanese of all things is Fermented Beancurd, which is likely made in Taiwan. Take nothing away from Crystal Cafe for putting up a credible buffet spread amid the low price. The restaurant looks rather tired with its mid 80s deco but at $18.80 per person for a weekday lunch or dinner buffet, it is hard to be picky. There’re enough selections to keep everyone happy. Wu Xiang(Fried Five Spices Meat Roll) is my favourite, a must try. There were plenty of braised dishes to go with sweet potato porridge like eggs and beancurd puff just to name a few. Coffee, Tea and Ice Cream are included. This buffet is definitely one of the cheapest in Singapore. Low in price but high in quality and variety. If you are in Orchard looking for a one-price eat all-bargain buffet, head down to Orchard Grand Court. Special thank you to all the staffs for their prompt service. This is one buffet for the competition to beat in the value category of buffet.
Peppermint, Plaza Parkroyal, Marina Bay(Halal certified)

Plaza Parkroyal, Marina Bay undertook a major A&E just a while ago, gone are the tired look of the old lobby court, new came Peppermint Restaurant. The restaurant had recently introduced a new international buffet to entice the hungry patrons. The reinvention was stunning. New furnishings were introduced to make the restaurant more welcoming and modern. Chairs and lightings were comfortable for the eyes. I was caught by surprise by the large contingent of buffet goers. The restaurant was almost full on a Tuesday night. Guests to the restaurant will be able to enjoy a wide selection of cold and hot food. Cold servings include Raw Oysters, cold Alaskan Crab Legs, Scallops, Tuna and Salmon Sashimi. The restaurant reassure the guests by putting the country of origin beside each seafood dish. There are mountains of salads to keep the Vegan happy. Some highlights of the hot dishes include Chilli Lobsters, Fish Cheeks Curry, Grilled Chicken and Lamb racks,. Special mention goes to the chicken rice, the chicken was smooth and cooked tenderly, coupled with the aroma of the ginger rice, it is a perfect main dish. I am glad to inform, the restaurant is halal certified, that makes it an excellent get-together place with colleagues or friends who have more stringent food requirements. We end the buffet with a cup of hot TWG tea and some random Cakes, Assorted Fruits and Ice Cream. We enjoyed the buffet for its good service, wide selection of food and fresh ingredients.
