Wolf Money(Starhill Global REIT)

Image
(Ngee Ann City) As mention in my year end review ,I am looking for opportunities in the REIT sector in 2023 since they are one of worst performing sector in Singapore. Before the year is up I have already decided on my first purchase due to China changing their travel policy. Starhill Global Reit own iconic properties in Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. They are manager for Ngee Ann City and Wisma Atria. I bought a small position only just in case the sector goes through more correction. The few merits of the Starhill Global Reit are listed below. (Wisma Atria) 1.) 68 percent of the REIT properties portfolio are in Singapore with Ngee Ann City and Wisma Atria making up much of the value. Malaysia, Australia, China and Japan properties making up the rest. 2.) The Chinese government had decided to allow citizens to fly again without the need to quarantine. This is one the major incentive for people to travel outside of China. I am expecting revenge traveling and shopping to start ver

Wolf Money(Singapore Savings Bonds result for Jan 2023 Issue)

Result for SSB Jan 2023 issue is out. Those who apply $173,000 and below will get full or $172,500 allocation. I am quite shock by the large allocation. If people wanted to lock in max sum of 200k, they would have gotten 85% in one allocation. 3.26% average 10 years is decent yield and it compare favourably against 3.025% 10 years Singapore Government Bond. I suspect many people are out traveling and missed the application date. Good luck 🤞. Sarine Technology  *Stocks are not rank in accordance to capital invested .  *Just for sharing. Not an inducement to buy or sell . Commentary   My thoughts and prayers to those families affected by the Genting Highlands landslide in Malaysia and the sinking of a warship in Thailand. An unfortunate situation no one should ever go through. I wish the survivors a speedy recovery.  Merry X’mas and a Happy New Year. 2022 had been a challenging year for many investments, stock is down, bond is down, oil is down and Bitcoin is down, just about everything is down except for interest rate and USD, even USD is showing some sign of weakness recently. Lone Wolf Fund managed a 8 percent gain without leverage if yield on cash is included a return of 10% is achieved ( last year was slightly above 15% ) The gain fell within the mid to high single digit

(Kampong Glam has a new cafe on the block)  (Which University do you go if you have only penny? Penny University😅😅😅) Penny University Coffeehouse had just moved from East Coast to Kampong Glam four weeks ago. As the World Cup score goes 1 vs 0 in favour of “Glam”orous. Penny University has a good following for their coffee. My brother is a fan of their coffee. He rushed down to have a coffee when I WhatsApp him the photo. They used to be mainstay of the cafe scene in East Coast. They had just moved from East Coast to Jln Klapa along Victoria Street. “East Coaster” loss is a gain for the “Glam”orous. (“Zeness”) Housed in a corner shophouse, its minimalistic deco bring a sense calm and tranquility to the people who are seeking refuge from the hustle and bustle of life. One can’t feel more at ease in the cafe. Reading a book or letting the mind wonder is such priceless moment which I will encouraged all to give your mind a holiday just by doing nothing. Periodic break works wonder fo

Wolf Money(Singapore Savings Bond Jan 2023 issue review)

The yield for Jan 2023 issue SSB is comparable to last month issue. There is a slight dip in average yield due to falling 10 years government bond yield. The first 3 years is characterised by flat yield curve with holders getting 2.95%. The average yield for the issue is 3.26% which I think is decent yield for a long term risk free instrument although it doesn’t cover the full spectrum of the current high inflation. The allocation for this coming SSB is likely to be similar to last month 14k. There is a slight step down in amount from last month 1B to 900m. Closing date for application is on the 27th of Dec 9pm. Wolf Bargain(Hong Qin Fish & Duck porridge)

Image
(Unique duck porridge) Over the next month or two i will be doing some renovation to my house. There are plenty of things to purchase to fit out the apartment. I might not be able to update my blog regularly. In the meantime, I have discovered a small eatery with quite an odd combo, fish and duck porridge. I haven’t came across any eatery that sell fish and duck as main dish. I find it weirder both fish and duck porridge share the same popularity among the patrons.  The shop is located off the main road of Sims Ave. Being the new kid(man) on block, I am keen to explore my neighbourhood. There are plenty of eateries along Sims Ave, Geylang Road and Guillemard Road. (Thick slices of fish) I ordered the fish porridge ($10) and duck drum porridge($7). The fish soup is light and the batang fish slices are thick. It might be $10 a shot but I got plenty of fish for $10, good enough for two person. As for the duck drum porridge, it is something I had never try before. My usual impression of
