Wolf Money(portfolio update end Sept 2021)

Lone Wolf Fund(LWF) Portfolio as at end of September  1.)  Keppel Corporation   2.) Cash Commentary Sometimes I wonder what would I be doing if I had no interest in the stock market. For sure I wouldn’t have joined the stock brokering industry and in process grinding out a decade long career. Numbers wouldn’t excite me anymore and of course less of that “money face” side of me. If only I am control by the left side of my brain which is associate to artistic creation. I would have become an artist or an auctioneer dealing with the great antiquity of the world.....1million going once, going twice and going for the final time, SOLD!. Btw my favourite programs on BBC are Fake or Fortune and Antique Road Trip.  Our stock market had become an antique market of some sort. An eclectic mix of old companies can be found. Collecting antiques may lead to great appreciation in value but holding a portfolio of companies of great antiquity is not to be suggested, some said it can be hazardous to heal

Wolf Money(Cryptocurrency update 2)

Image
This is an update from my last post on cryptocurrency. More and more government are putting restrictions on cryptocurrency trading or the use of cryptocurrency. South Korea require cryptocurrency trading firm to be registered. They are also looking to impose heavy capital gain tax on cryptocurrency trading.  China had just announced an outright ban on all cryptocurrency use and service. Anyone found trading or providing services relating to cryptocurrency are subjected to the full force of the law. The Chinese are the largest group of cryptocurrency traders in the world. Wolf Money(Cryptocurrency) May 21, 2021 Disclaimer first, I usually don’t comment on things that I had so little knowledge about but cryptocurrency trading is raging which warrant a word of caution. Below are some points one need to think through if one is buying cryptocurrency for investment, not speculating. I am not a big fan of all form of speculative trading. More than 90 percent of the people who trade actively l

Wolf Bargain(My third place)

Image
Starbucks former CEO, Howard Schultz build a successful behemoth coffee joint by coining the idea of a third place. What actually is a third place? First place is your home, second place your office and third place is a comfortable cafe to enjoy that well deserved coffee break. As work from home arrangement blur the line of home and office. The third place had become more important for periodic break in between work.  (Extensive menu to choose from) The latest addition to the third place cafe eco system, The Providore is a growing chain of cafes run by local. They have outlets in Orchard, Raffles Place and City Hall. They serve coffee at a reasonably price. I particularly like the breakfast menu. English Breakfast, Ricotta Pancake and Sourdough Toast to name a few. Barn laid eggs and Sourdough Toast is my favourite item on the menu. Great for Vegan.  (Barn laid eggs with Sourdough, couple with black coffee) The sourdough toast is freshly made daily. The eggs with bright orangey yolks

Wolf Money(China property market)

Image
I will just stated my observation on the issue surrounding China Evergrande and the impact on China property sector. My best guess it will have an impact, on the scale of 1 to 5. 5 been the worst case. I will rate the event at around 3. My best guess the government is going to lead the debt restructuring and try engineered a soft landing. There are likely some tightening on lending to developer and home buyer. I had a chat with a friend who stay in China, properties in mostly tier 2 or 3 cities saw weak demand. The first tier cities like Beijing and Shanghai is in a league of their own. Coastal cities demand are firmer and prices are holding well. This is the latest I heard. Of course situation can turn negatively on the downside if China Evergrande goes through a non orderly bankruptcy. The situation does warrant some close observation. I will write more at my month end review. Wishing all a Happy Mid Autumn. Please follow us on telegram for the latest update on Lone Wolf investor by

Wolf Bargain(What’s for lunch?)

Image
The stock market is going through some heavy correction currently. Profits are slim picking this month. I might have to settle for some bird seeds during lunch ๐Ÿง....cheap cheap cheap cheap (Lelong price Honey glazed Sunflower seed @$1 for two at cheers, they are quite nice to be honest)  or I could have Teochew fish ball noodle. Usually I don’t recommend fish ball noodle or wanton noodle in my blog. I find them almost everywhere and mostly uninspiring. If I am given a choice of other food, I would avoid them. Fishball noodle is after fishball noodle loh. Wanton Noodle is after all Wanton Noodle loh. I rarely find outstanding examples of both.  (No frills signboard, honest to goodness fishball noodle) The stall has a simple name to match the food. Teochew Fishball Noodle, no fancy name, just Teochew Fishball Noodle $3 or $4 written on the signboard. Maybe I am Teochew so must support Teochew Fishball Noodle. They are the only fish ball noodle stall I go in my neighbourhood. The stall i

Wolf Money(Trailing stop Thai Beverage)

Image
I had sold my Thai Beverage due to activation of trailing stop amid overall weakness in the market. I had deployed more capital into Keppel Corporation from Thai Bev sale which I think may have a better risk reward in the mid term due to on going restructuring. Lone Wolf walk away with some profit for beer.
