Wolf Money(portfolio update end Sept 2022)early release

(Funeral of the Queen with all its pageantry and spectacle at full display) Lone Wolf Fund(LWF) Portfolio as at end of Sept 1.) Cash 2.) Boustead Projects(BP) *Stocks are not rank in accordance to capital invested .  *Just for sharing. Not an inducement to buy or sell . Commentary The biggest event of the year must be the passing of the Queen of England. I got great respect for her enduring and unwavering resolve to serve out her role as Queen till her death. In the modern era, people just don’t have that kind of loyalty and patience towards their company and job. Job hopping is common and loyalty counts for little, companies likewise. To have the Queen in the job for 70 years is no mean feat, a dedication few people could match. King Charles III had taken over as the Sovereign of UK and 14 other countries which had the Queen as their head of state. In the Carolean era, there are no carol to lift his spirits. I personally felt for the new King, most people at his age would be enjoyin

Wolf Money(Singapore Savings Bonds Oct result)

Image
Singapore Savings Bonds Oct result is out. All subscribers of SSB for 42.5k and lower will get full allocation or 42k. I suspect a lot of people skip this month ssb due to lower yield. I am expecting yield to jump back up to above 3% for month of Nov. Competition for SSBs likely to be intensifying next month due to the tremor in the financial market.  Please follow us on telegram for the latest update on Lone Wolf investor by clicking on the link below  https://t.me/joinchat/oCgkD3sQFRMzMWM1 Disclaimers   All investments is highly speculative in nature and involves substantial risk of loss. Wolf Bargain(Lunch, get set ready go)

Image
I am always on a look out for value lunch sets. Sometime I host clients and friends for lunches during my brokering days. The habit continue after I left the industry. It is an open secret more than half of the brokers are making minimum wage due to falling commission rates so maximising lunch dollars can be part of the cost control mechanism. How do you take someone to a nice restaurant without looking cheapskate and blowing a hole in the pocket? I have the following recommendations. Most restaurants would have some sort of weekdays lunch set to draw the wallet pinching lunch crowd. Most office crowd just wanted to eat a quick lunch and get back to work. For those who had a bit more time and need to host a guest on a budget. This is for you.  (The Wagyu beef cheek just melt in the mouth) Wooloomooloo@Raffles City The restaurant which has its roots back in HK is offering daily 3 courses executive set lunch at $34++. The portion is decent. The mushroom soup starter is lightly creamy a

Wolf Money(Boustead Projects)long post!

(@former Thong Sia building I might have found something undervalued looking at my watch) It is not my intention to keep this sharing under a cloud of secrecy but due to the need to keep the stock price in check as the liquidity of the stock is poor, any big buy up or sell down can cause the share price to move exponentially. As I looked into my crystal ball(watch) and try to guess which stock will do well going into 2023 given the high borrowing cost and possibly a recessionary environment. I find it difficult to find any company in Singapore not affected by the tough macro environment. A few critical criteria I had put out for my next search, the company must not be over leverage, in net cash position preferred, good growth and trading well below nav etc. Boustead Projects(BP) is one such company which I had decided to put some capital to work. They are in net cash position even with their big shell out on the Bideford property(former Thong Sia building). BP is building business pa

Wolf Money(book recommendation)

The book “The Most Important Thing” by Howard Marks of Oaktree Investment is an investment classic, a quintessential read if you are in the financial market. I rated it one of the most important book for any serious investor. This is by far the best book I had read this year. The book consolidated some of the past memos written by Howard Marks which had an impressive record of achieving 19% yearly return since 1995. Very few fund managers can proclaimed to be able to beat the market for that long duration. I have trouble trying to write this book review as there are many important topics which will required intensive reading and writing. It is impossible to write a book review 7 pages long without boring my reader. Today I will just touch on one important subject for what Howard Marks described as the importance of 2nd-level thinking. Good 2nd-level thinking can help investors achieve superior return. What is 2nd-level thinking? For example of first level thinker  “This is a good compa
