(Image credit: Straits Times; Comfortdelgro Headquarters) Lone Wolf Fund(LWF) Portfolio as at end of May 2025 1.) Cash 2.) Keppel 3.)  ComfortDelGro Corporation   *Stocks are not rank in accordance to capital invested .  *Just for sharing. Not an inducement to buy or sell . Commentary   Another month, another flip-flop by the Trump’s administration on trade policy. I have acquired some skills of keeping the noise out of my mind. I did little in May with the exception to a sale in Grab Holdings and a small loss in my test case position at Alibaba. Just before the month is up, I bought in a small position in Keppel. I personally don’t quite like the rumours of Grab buying GoTo. Big acquisitions rarely work. I continue to draw comfort from the good dividend of ComfortDelGro. LWF was down 3.5% for May due to CDG going xd. Year-to-date unleveraged return stands at a negative 0.5%(excluding dividend and cash yield). LWF are underperforming the STI 3.5% increases this year....

Wolf Money(Keppel Ltd)

The below article is for educational purpose only. Kindly refrain from taking any action. It shouldn’t constitute as an investment advice. Please read the disclaimer . I bought a small position in Keppel. It was relating to the news of Piyush Gupta, the ex CEO of DBS been appointed as the vice chairman of Keppel. I am purely buying into his track record at DBS where he managed to give a return of more than 400% during his tenure as the chief executive office of the bank. Furthermore, Keppel has undertaken to divest $ 2.5b in non-core asset by end of 2026. Wolf Money(Singapore Savings Bonds June 2025 results)

Image
(Source: MAS) The result for June 2025 SSBs. Out of the $500m on offer, only $400.8m found buyer. The yield for next month SSBs will be similar. SSBs is still a good place to hide some short term liquidity at risk-free rates. I suspect next month take up rate will be lower due to the June school holiday. Many Singaporeans will be traveling. Maybe the COE will drop too 🤔. Just saying. God bless.  Please consider following us on telegram for the latest update on Lone Wolf investor by clicking on the link below. Wolf Money(In conversation with Kenny Loh, Founder of REITsavvy)

Image
(Wolf & Kenny) Last Friday, I have the pleasure of having a conversation with Kenny Loh, the founder of REITsavvy. The setting was at ToastBox, Bugis. Many people will be familiar with Kenny. He is a regular guest on Money Fm and his views are well sought after by many media outlets, especially in the area of REITs. Since my guest is a REITs expert, our conversations and my questions would evolve around REITs and their outlook. Wolf : How do you see the current REITs market? Kenny : The REITs market has gone through a period of uncertainty. He believes the REITs are in the process of bottoming out, given some REITs reported positive dpu growth in their latest financial quarter.  Wolf : Which are the REITs that have strong fundamentals?  Kenny : Fraser Centrepoint Trust and Mapletree Industrial Trust.  Wolf : Why these two particular REITs? Kenny : I like the well-run malls under Fraser Centrepoint Trust management. Although there are concerns about some Singapo...

(Image credit: Paramount Pictures) Mission Impossible?  Tom Cruise’s final installment of MI8 is out. It has been an amazing run for Tom Cruise since he shot to stardom for his role as Captain Pete Mitchell in the movie Top Gun. At the age of 62, most Hollywood A-listed will have to contend with a more senior role of playing second fiddle to someone’s father or granddad. A role as a leading hot shot for his age is more like an exception than a norm. Very rarely will you see actors in an action movie doing their own stunts.  Most people who have done extraordinarily well in life are driven not solely by the tangible benefits. Passion has always been the more powerful motivation. Warren Buffett, who has been doing what he has done for the past 60 years is another extraordinary individual who has achieved great things in his field. In our life, passing the many examinations, securing our dream job to work for a Fortune 500 company. What we deem as Mission Impossible, many overcam...

Wolf Money(Alibaba HK SDR 5 to 1 sold)

Image
I have sold my small test case for Alibaba. Main thing which prompted my selling. 1.) The rising Japanese and American bond yields. There will be sign of stress in the market if the situation prolonged.  2.) I got a feeling the local baba is not trading in lock step with the main shares trading in HK. There is a delay to the SG shares when price of HK moved up. It is just my own feeling which might not be correct. I will preferred the share traded in HK if I ever buy back baba. I am taking a more defensive stance on the market. The position resulted in a 3% loss. More details at the end of the month portfolio update. Wolf Money(Grab Holdings sold)

Image
I have decided to take profit on my Grab. Two things that prompted my selling. 1.) The rumour of Grab purchasing GoTo has grown louder. Personally I don’t fancy big merger. The rumour price mentioned by some financial articles is around USD $7b which is a substantial amount that will wipe out USD $5b cash from Grab, putting the company in a net debt position if the acquisition really happened.  2.) Secondly, the falling USD. Singapore dollars had strengthened 5% against the USD this year. That makes holding USD denominated asset less attractive.  The return on Grab position was more than 17% in USD term and 15% return in SGD term in slightly over 2 months of holdings period. More details at the end of the month portfolio update. God Bless. Please consider following us on telegram for the latest update on Lone Wolf investor by clicking on the link below.
