Wolf Bargain(Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King Four Season Bugis)

(Shop Front Source : Company website)

Many would have heard about this ramen shop. They had their first outlet at Orchid Hotel. Headed by Ramen Champion Chef, Tekeda Keisuke, it was a sensational hit with the diners where long queue can be seen circling half way round the hotel when they opened in 2005. The queue is a bit more tame now. They have grown quite a few outlets since 2005 and across different ramen styled in Singapore.

My family frequent their Ramen Keisuke Four Season outlet at Bugis Village. My son always felt the spring in his steps when I bring him to the restaurant. It is a shop where we can enjoy good comfort food and warm service. My son can be testimonial to the good food and service. My Ramen goes for around $12. I ordered a winter ramen with additional seaweed. The soup is well boiled. I was told they need to cook it for 8 hours to bring out the favour of the soup. My Ramen came with some modifications with no oil, less salt and normal noodle texture. The full Japanese version might be too strong for me. The outcome is a bowl of easy to down honest to goodness Ramen. The soup is light and sublime. The big slice of Char Siew is soft. The black fungus had a crunchy texture. The bowl of Ramen tick every box of my palette. Children below 10 years get a complimentary small bowl of Ramen. Hard boiled eggs and bean sprouts are on the house. The bean sprouts is a great compliment to the Ramen, giving that bit of crunch and spice to the Ramen. Peeling egg shells does give one the feeling of participation, working hard for your bowl of Ramen. Son will have two eggs to go with his meal.

He like the fried rice which happen to be an undiscovered gem on the menu. The rice is fragrant, stirred fried to perfection by the chef. Egg, diced meat, Japanese fish cake and spring onion are the main ingredients. We opt for less seasoning. A plate cost $8.

Special mention to Uncle Steven and the crew at the outlet for their wonderful service. Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King Four Season Bugis offer comfort food at comforting price. A bowl of winter ramen, a complimentary kid Ramen and a plate fried rice cost no more than $24 which is good enough for 3 persons. Keisuke Tonkotsu Ramen Four Seasons is a good place for family dining without blowing a hole in the pocket.
