Wolf Money(OTS Holdings Ltd IPO review)

Image
Another day another IPO on Catalist, this time OTS Holdings Ltd. This IPO has nothing to do with elevator(OTIS). The company is known for their Made in Singapore, Taiwan Sausage and Luncheon meat under Golden Bridge brand. Personally I am not a fan of processed meat but I did try out their products, the black pepper luncheon meat is rather tasty.  The company is offering 41m shares including 6m vendor shares through placement, only 1m is available for public subscription at 23c. I am a bit half hearted in writing this blog. The financial figures look all right but there are only 1m shares for public subscription which mean most people will get little or no share when they apply for the public tranche. The low number available for public tranche will ensure the IPO will be many times over subscribed. SGX should mandate any IPO aspirant to have a min size of at least 10 percent of newly issued shares to be make available for public subscription or else what the point of callin...

โ€œThe 25 Habits of Highly Successful Investorsโ€ is written by Peter Sander who happens to be the author of  โ€œValue Investing for Dummiesโ€ and โ€œ101 Things Everyone should know about Economicsโ€. In the book, the author list out 25 habits of highly successful investor. I personally deployed some of the habits in my investment. There are a few habits which I would like to mention specifically  . He mentioned about habit 1 โ€œKnowing Yourselfโ€. Knowing oneself or self realisation is very important. It will set your mind on why you want to invest? what is your expectation? how much risk tolerance can you take? Drawing on my past experience as ex broker, I used to have a client who is always at the cliff edge when it come to her stock investment. After checking the fundamental of the company with me, she executed her buy orders. The very next moment she felt the stock might be too risky for her and she wanted out immediately. She will always ask me these two questions in quick successio...

Wolf Bargain(June Bakery)

Image
What am I doing here at Plaza Parkroyal at 6.40am? I have not woken up so early to do a blog. I am here at Plaza Parkroyal in June to buy tarts made by June Bakery. It is June and June bakery, anyone get the link here ๐Ÿ˜Žโ˜ƒ๏ธ. June Bakery has been in operation for more than 20 years. They operate out from a little shop at the basement of The Plaza Shopping Arcade.  If you want to buy their tarts, you need to be early, I mean very early. The tarts get sold out within an hour or two after 7am. Do expect a queue after 7.30 am. Queue can be 20 paxs strong.  June Bakery is de authority for yam tart or what Teochew called Or Nee tart. The yam tart has a nice โ€œyammyโ€ flavour to it. This is the real deal. I have tasted other yam tarts before most tasted just sweet, nothing else. Most of them lack the earthly taste of real yam. The ginkgo nuts give the tart that bitter sweet fragrance. June Bakery uses good ingredients for their tart. The freshly made tart come with a good crust, a balanc...

With Nasdaq and tech stocks starting the month with some heavy correction. STI was not spare from the volatility. By middle of May our index was close to 7 percent down from April due to confluence of negative factors arising from weakness in US market and our government reimposing a partial lockdown due to surging covid-19 cases. It caused STI to drop quickly as the market participants reassess economic and market risks associating to the partial lockdown. A big crash in cryptocurrency occurred in May. At the lowest point bitcoin was down 40 percent from its high. In general cryptocurrency had a bad month. US market...
