Wolf Bargain(Temasek Shophouse)

Image
(The art deco frontage of the shophouse) (Very well thought mission statement) For the past few weeks, I have been meeting friends for breakfasts and lunches at Temasek Shophouse. Temasek Shophouse is owned by Temasek Trust which is the philanthropic arm of our sovereign wealth fund. The impact hub gathers change makers in the area of social enterprises and social services. It provides a space for strengthening relationships, fostering collaborations and catalysing solutions for a positive impact on social development.  (The main hall) Upon stepping into the building, I feel special walking into the space. It was all peaceful and quiet in the morning. It is an oasis in the heart of Orchard. The newly renovated building maintains the old charm. What the architect did was to install modern amenities. There is a huge hall, great for hosting events. (Event space for lease) Guests can order a coffee from Foreword to enjoy the space at their own time. Tables and chairs are availab...

Wolf Money(Thai Beverage PCL)

Image
(Image credit: thestar.com.my) The below article is for educational purpose only. Kindly refrain from taking any action. It shouldn’t constitute as an investment advice. Please read the disclaimer . I bought back partial of my sold Thai Beverage PCL shares at the current price due to positive news coming out of Thailand. Chinese President, Xi, pledged to help Thailand bring back tourists from the Mainland if the country forgoes the idea of setting up a casino in the future. Thailand might see a surge in Chinese tourists in the upcoming CNY period. Chinese tourists to Thailand are down by a third compared to last year. This position is purely on the core business recovering. BeerCo listing is not part of my consideration given the death of the Queen. It might be seen as bad optics to be seeking a listing for their beer unit. The listing delays can be up to 3 months to a year based on my guesstimate. Thai Beverage will be reporting full year earnings towards the end of Nov. 2c wort...

Wolf Money(Comfortdelgro)

Image
(Image credit: Comfortdelgro) This purchase was inspired by my son. He likes buses and trains. I asked him would he like to invest in the company that runs the public transport service we rely on? He says yes. I am buying with the intention of looking at their upcoming q3 results out by the middle of this month. I have no idea how they going to fare. So far, CDG’s results haven’t met my expectations. A strict cut loss strategy would be warranted. Wolf Money(portfolio update end Oct 2025)

Image
(Image credit: caniretireyet.com) The Middle Class Trap This write-up is a combination of my observation and experience. Imagine a couple with two kids earning a combined income of $14,000. Comfortable income by any measure if the family spend well below their means.  The biggest expense of any household with kids goes into sending the children to school. The initial years of sending them to childcare are the most draining on household finances. Most parents, if not all parents, wanted the best for their kids. Enrolling them in a good childcare. The school fees for 2 to 6 years old are around $1900 per child per month before government rebates are given to working mothers.  For a family of 4, a family car can help move people around easily. An entry-level car will set out another $2500 per month in installment and related expenses. If the wife wanted to live in a nice 3-bedroom condo with a swimming pool for the kids to enjoy the facilities. Mortgage payments are likely...

(Source: MAS)   The falling yield is having an impact on SSBs’ demand. Given the bullish stock and precious metal market. Capital might have been diverted into those areas. Out of $400m available for applications. Only $200.4m found buyers. Next month’s situation will be no different. God bless. Wolf Money(Thai Beverage PCL)sold

The death of the former Queen of Thailand is an unfortunate situation and timing. It bring another layer of complexity for Thai Beverage’s BeerCo listing. The government has declared a year of mourning for Queen Sirikit. Under such circumstances, it might be bad optics to be listing a beer company. Just my thoughts. 2c worth. I am in general uncomfortable with the extended bull run. My second consideration is the potential correction in the US market. Lone Wolf sold Thai Bev at even Steven. Some brokering fees will be accounted during the end of month portfolio update. God Bless. Wolf Money(Singapore Savings Bonds Nov 2025 review)

(Source: MAS) The general lowering of interest rate, especially in Singapore, has been particularly important for consumers and businesses that borrowed heavily. It is disadvantage to those savers that rely on their cash to earn a yield higher than the inflation rate.  This month, SSBs come with an average 10-year yield of 1.83%. At the current yield, those investors who need to stay liquid due to financial commitments within the next 12 months should only consider. The first year yield of 1.39% is higher than most savings accounts and fixed deposits. The closing date of this month’s application falls on the 28th Oct 2025@9pm. God bless!
