Wolf Money(Haw Par Corp Sold)

Image
I have decided to sell off my HPC at a 4% loss after dividend. Some profit from BOC sale were used to do the spring cleaning. I don’t quite like the way the stock is trading. There is simply a lack of interest in the stock even though it is way undervalued by a mile. I am also cautious on potential weakness of the general market if we have another hot inflation number before Wall Street opened on Wednesday. I hope to do better next time. God Bless. Wolf Money(Car Ownership in Singapore)

(Image Credit : CNA)    https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/coe-prices-cars-buy-families-young-children-necessity-3581311?cid=internal_sharetool_ipad_06072023_cna   I mentioned previously about owning a car had become somewhat elitist in Singapore. Some people who have a genuine need of a car might not be rich. I am sympathetic to those who are caught in a catch 22 situation where not having a car is not an option. There was an article in CNA talking about car ownership in Singapore. I did a simple calculation on the given example of owning a Toyota(bread and butter). A base model Toyota as cited in the article cost $165,000 including COE. What are the potential savings if one put off the idea of buying a car for 10 years in this crazy market. Base on 10 years Cost of Vehicles $165,000 Plus Car Loan interest 70% quantum@3% $35,000 Cost of parking and ERP $24,000 Cost of petrol and road tax $30,000 Cost of Insurance $12,000 Cost of maintenance $10,000(no major issue like gearbox p

Wolf Review(Mind Over Money)

(Contents) “Mind Over Money” The Psychology of Money and How to Use It Better explained the psychological behind our brain on how we view money. The author, Claudia Hammond described the 12 kinds of personalities towards money. I find them very interesting. Most of us should be able to relate ourself with one or few personalities mention in the author’s book.  1.) The freedom buyer describes a person resent being required to limit ones autonomy and see money as a way of paying not to be told what to do. 2.) The freedom fighter describe an individual that dislike the way money constraints people and would like to see it shared out more equally akin to a concerned liberal or a misfit. 3.) The compulsive saver is one that save money for the sake of saving it. It also describes a person putting away money religiously every month. A person that doesn’t enjoy his holiday given he is spending more without the money he would have made if he had not gone on a holiday. 4.) The self-denier is a p

Wheel of Fortune   My favourite TV host, Pat Sajak from Wheel of Fortune will be retiring in 2024. It is not absurd to be saying I had been watching him since I was a kid. Wheel of Fortune longest serving host is a mainstay of Channel 5 primetime. It is also the program which I enjoy watching with my son. I can’t imagine watching Wheel of Fortune without him. Pat Sajak is Wheel of Fortune, Wheel of Fortune is Pat Sajak. 😢 With the closure of Turf Club in 2024, I predict more people will be spinning their “Wheel of Fortune” in the casino. Gambling is in the blood of the Chinese. One can’t get into the mood of Chinese New Year celebration without some
