Wolf Money(Singapore Savings Bonds Dec 2023 review)

Image
(Credit: MAS)  The average 3.4% yield for Dec issued SSBs has the highest yield for the year. Yield hunters are likely to take notice of this month issue. Dec issue is likely to be over subscribed as yield for Jan issue is likely to be lower than Dec issue due to falling 10 years SGS bonds yield. Dec SSBs had similar yield of 3.3% for the first 6 years, slowly increasing to 3.68% on the tenth year. Good luck to those applying. God bless. 🙏 Please consider following us on telegram for the latest update on Lone Wolf investor by clicking on the link below. Wolf Money(Boustead Singapore 1H FY2024 result)

Image
(If Cash machine has a name, it is call Boustead Singapore) Boustead Singapore reported a 19% increase in net profit excluded one off. Revenue for the reported half year was up 49%. Almost all business units experience growth with the exception of healthcare. The company is purposing 1.5c dividend, payable on 1 Dec 2023. I find the result quite impressive given last year there was a $11m currency gain. The result was a 10% improvement if currency was taken into account. Net cash per share had risen to 79.5c per Boustead Singapore share which represents close to 93.5% of the current market capitalisation base on last traded price of 85c.  The company had purposed an exit offer of $1.18 per share for Boustead Projects shareholders. Congratulations to the minority shareholders of Boustead Projects, your resolve had finally paid off. A resolution on the majority owner to accept the new exit offer needs to be voted by independent shareholders of Boustead Singapore. More detail at the end

Wolf Bargain(365 days Christmas Shop?)

Image
(Prominent shop located at the junction of Paya Lebar & Geylang Road) (The magical door into the Christmas wonderland)  There is one special shop in my neighbourhood that caught my eyes. The shophouse is prominently located at the junction of Paya Lebar Road and Geylang Road. People who drove past that road can’t miss it.  Who on earth loves Christmas so much by calling themselves Henry Christmas Wholesaler? Amazingly the shop’s facade is decked out in Christmas decorations for 365 days. The only time I have seen a Christmas shop operating the whole year round is a shop named, The Nutcracker in Stratford Upon Avon, England, also the Home of Shakespeare. (Trees in all shapes, sizes and colours are on sale) Christmas trees in all shapes, sizes and colours are available. Shoppers can choose from the many paraphernalia associated to the festival. One could recreated the scene of The Church of Nativity by buying the whole set of the figurines. There are plenty of accessories available

Wolf Money(SBS Transit Q3 FY2023 update)

Image
(Credit: SBS Transit) SBS Transit Q3 update shows a 4.7% increase in profit. The numbers were helped by interest income generated from their cash pile. Cash balance went up another 25m to around $370m or $1.18 net cash per share, which made up 47% of their market capitalisation even after accounting for 17m dividend paid in August. October train ridership for DTL,NEL and LRT had reached 97.5% of pre covid. No dividend was declared for current quarter. God bless. Wolf Money(Valuetronics 1H FY2024 result)

Image
Valuetronics blow passed my expectation. Profit went up 42%. Margin expanded and cash had risen to SGD 48c per share which is around 87% of the current market cap. The improvement in earnings was due to what I expected, interest income. Interest income accounts for over 30% of their earning. If there is any imperfection, the revenue is abit light due to slower demand from customers. The company is also proposing an additional interim special dividend of HKD 4c on top of normal dividend HKD 4c. More review at the end of month update. Thank you. God bless. Wolf Bargain(Fujian, Food Gang)

Image
(Love the old school vibes with all those plastic chairs) I had a meal in this restaurant 3 months ago. I am quite positive about the food and I was pretty sure to do a review on this traditional restaurant, but how did it managed to slip my mind? I don’t know. Better late than never. Here is the review, several months later.... Going into the restaurant felt like one was teleported into the era of Lin Qing Xia and Chin Han(Google them if you don’t know who they are). The restaurant has more or less kept its outlook since the 70s. The squeaky door and the less than ideal coolness of the air-conditioning were part of the experience. Take nothing away from the restaurant, the lack of dining refinement was compensated by the delicious food. The restaurant serves very authentic Hokkien food. In my opinion, Teochew and Hokkien food are quite similar. The Hokkien has their Hei Chou and the Teochew has their Wu Xiang. Both have their Yam Paste. The major differences between Hokkien and Teoche
