There is one special shop in my neighbourhood that caught my eyes. The shophouse is prominently located at the junction of Paya Lebar Road and Geylang Road. People who drove past that road can’t miss it. 


Who on earth loves Christmas so much by calling themselves Henry Christmas Wholesaler? Amazingly the shop’s facade is decked out in Christmas decorations for 365 days. The only time I have seen a Christmas shop operating the whole year round is a shop named, The Nutcracker in Stratford Upon Avon, England, also the Home of Shakespeare.

Christmas trees in all shapes, sizes and colours are available. Shoppers can choose from the many paraphernalia associated to the festival. One could recreated the scene of The Church of Nativity by buying the whole set of the figurines. There are plenty of accessories available to choose for your X’mas tree. Candles cane, silver bells, walnuts and cherries are some examples. I promised my son to buy him a big Christmas tree this year. He was excited to give his input. He had chosen a 5 feet white tree with Turquoise balls, a multi-colour light-changing-led star and a 2m led light. The end result was quite pleasing to the eyes.

The shop owner, Derick, was in the shop at the time of our visit. Derick was very kind to offer his advice and assistance on our selection. I got a neighbourhood discount after I told him I lived around the area. Our shopping experience was joyful. I was given special permission to take photos in the shop after telling him I will like to feature him in my blog so more people can know about this magical shop. By the way, he loves Christmas so much that he did tried to operate a 365-day Christmas Shop, however he found the concept difficult to sustain. Only 2 customers walked into the store daily during the off peak season. The Christmas shop usually operates for the last three months of the year. He sells Chinese New Years decorations and hampers after the Christmas season end, for the rest of the year the shop sells bicycles.

Henry’s Christmas Wholesaler is one spectacular place to take your family for a visit. Walking into the shop bring the visitors into a whimsical Christmas wonderland. I am spellbound by the decorations, couple with the familiar Christmas tune in the background, it brings the visitors into the mood of Christmas instantly. The good service and wide selection of Christmas decorations at reasonable price made it an excellent place to consider your Christmas shopping.
