Wolf Bargain(Buddha’s Delight)

(The most beautiful Buddhist temple in my opinion)

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple located near Sago Lane has to be one of the most beautiful Buddhist temple in Singapore in my opinion. Although I am not a Buddhist but I am spellbound by the architectural marvel of this building. The grandeur of the temple drew curious tourists from all over the world, with many striking their best pose in front of the temple for a memorable snapshot.

Lian Xin Vegan Restaurant

For years, I never know there is a Vegan food court located in the basement of the temple. The entrance and signage to Lian Xin food court is not prominently displayed, a keen eye is needed to spot the entrance. I give it a nickname “Secret Vegan Foodcourt”. There are plenty of Vegan varieties which I never would have imagined. Besides the Vegetarian Bee Hoon and Mixed Rice(Caifan). There are Western Food and noodles to choose from. All desserts and drinks are available at $1 each. My plate of Vegetarian Bee Hoon and Coffee O costs $5. The Bee Hoon is well cooked, the Vegan Mutton Curry adds a layer of favour. The Vegan Goose(Fried Beancurd Skin) gives out a good crunch and the sweet and sour mock meat gives you cravings for more Bee Hoon. Overall, the food court serves good food at a very affordable price. The modern and clean dining hall gives the diners a pleasant experience. Lian Xin Vegan offers a little sanctuary in the heart of CBD where everyone can enjoy an inexpensive meal.

(The dining hall was packed with diners)

(Hot&cold beverage and desserts at only $1 each)

(Vegetarian Bee Hoon at only $4)

($4 Vegetarian mixed vegetables rice which I had on another occasion)

(The vegan chicken nuggets tasted very similar to the non vegan version)

(Cakes and pastries at $1-$2)

(A bowl of barley beancurd dessert)

Buddhas of the World Museum

The temple also houses a Buddhas of the World Museum on the third level. I am fascinated by the many Buddha statues and Buddhism-related antiquities on display. Some artefacts date back as early as the 2nd century. The curatorial team for the museum did a wonderful job of showcasing and explaining the historical significance of the artefacts. Through donations from the public, the temple was able to bid for Buddhism-related auction held at Christie’s and Sotheby’s. The museum houses one of the largest collection of Buddha in Singapore. The Museum’s effort in telling and preserving historical Buddhist Relics is commendable. The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum is culturally stimulating to spend the afternoon.

(A very well curated museum on Buddhism)
