Wolf Bargain( “Funlidays”)

As we approach the week long March school holiday, What do you do to keep your kids occupied? Travel? Not enough time. Enrichment class? Expensive. How about Library and Museum? They are free and educational.

There are a couple of new attractions to keep the kids engaged. Both the Keppel Centre for Art Education at the National Gallery and the Central Public Library went through their respective revamps recently. It offers the visitors a different experience from the former.

Keppel Centre for Art Education(KCAE)@National Gallery

Housed in the National Gallery Singapore, KCAE is a dedicated space for children as young as 3 years old. KCAE had a recent revamp to keep the little ones interested. The new space is more interactive than the former with touch screens and 3D painting incorporated into the space. I personally enjoyed the 3D painting more than my son. There are drop in activities within the centre for kids to do a bit of art and craft. The National Gallery Singapore is highly recommended for its inclusive exhibitions where everyone from the age of 3 to 80 years old has something to do.

Central Public Library

The Library was closed for 2 years before its reopening a couple of months back. The opening has been highly anticipated by myself as I am a regular user of the library for my investment research. The new library located on Basement 1 has been transformed into a modern and welcome environment. One could drown yourself in the world of books with many new titles. There is a child-oriented area in collaboration with S.E.A Aquarium Resort World Sentosa Singapore. The marine life theme adds colours and interesting facts about sea creatures. The space makes a great place to enjoy some parent-children bonding. The library creates a conducive environment for cultivating reading habits. There is a substantial increase in hot desks for people needing to catch up on work, charging ports are aplenty for those needing to power up their laptop and mobile device. I had a good look at the business books section, new titles were added. One could get books on cryptocurrency, the stock market, alternative investments and even AI. I find myself spending more time in the library. Both places provide a good alternative to the usual shopping malls and ticketed places of interest. Happy School Holiday!
